The Jags and the Chargers have what it takes to move past the Wild Card round, but the undefeated Patriots and Super Bowl title defending Colts are in a class all their own as the AFC Divisional Playoffs get set to kick off.

#5 Jacksonville Jaguars @ #1 New England Patriots

Sat., Jan. 12 @ 8 p.m.

Lookin’ Good: Jaguars defense

For the second time in a row, the Jaguars beat the Steelers on the road. This time around, the Jags’ dominating defense sacked QB Ben Roethlisberger six times and held the Steelers to only 43 yards rushing on the day.

Seen Better Days: Jaguars QB David Garrard

With only three interceptions in 11 regular season starts, Garrard threw two interceptions in his first postseason stint. However, all was forgiven when Garrard led the Jags in an 18-point, fourth-quarter rally to edge past the Steelers.

Edge: Patriots.

Yes, the Jaguars have continued to surge, but the Patriots have surged since Week 1 en route to a perfect 16-0 season. It doesn’t hurt that the Patriots have the unanimous NFL MVP winner, Tom Brady, at the reins with his stellar 117.2 passer rating in tow.

#3 San Diego Chargers @ #2 Indianapolis Colts

Sun., Jan. 13 @ 1 p.m.

Lookin’ Good: Chargers offense

With LaDainian Tomlinson staying relatively quiet with only 42 yards rushing on the day, the Chargers made up ground with stellar efforts from receivers Chris Chambers and Vincent Jackson who hauled in 121 and 114 yards receiving, respectively. However, bad news came for the Bolts who lost TE Antonio Gates to a toe injury.

Seen Better Days: The Colts’ recent record against the Chargers

Since 2005, the Chargers are 2-0 against the Colts. Hearken back to NFL Week 10 this past season when the Chargers edged past the Colts 23-21. The usually clutch Colts looked anything but with Peyton Manning throwing six interceptions and Adam Vinatieri botching a 29-yard chip shot with 1:31 left in the game.

Edge: Colts

We gotta give it to the defending Super Bowl Champion Colts who went 13-3 and claimed the #2 seed for a reason – Peyton Manning is a good reason with a not-too-shabby 98.0 passer rating. Moreover, Colts fans won’t make the Chargers’ visit a pleasant one inside the deafeningly loud and rowdy RCA Dome.
