NFC CHAMPIONSHIP COVERAGE

With a chance to play for the NFC Championship on the line, the Packers proved that only the strong survive the “Frozen Tundra,” while the Giants proved that their third time against Cowboys was truly a (winning) charm.

#5 New York Giants @ #2 Green Bay Packers

Sunday, Jan. 20 @ 5:30 p.m.

Lookin’ Good: QB Manning

Eli Manning, that is. Turns out the younger Manning will be the one to move just one win away from the Super Bowl. Manning proved that he could flourish under bright lights and big-game pressure, leading the Giants’ memorable first-half drive that seemed to quiet the home-team Cowboys and the critics all at the same time.

Seen Better Days: The Giants’ record at Lambeau Field

The Giants are certainly bona-fide road warriors – reeling off a 9-1 road record including the playoffs. However, the “Frozen Tundra” that is Lambeau Field is a tough place to play – let alone win – in, unless you’re the Packers who are now 8-1 at home and have dropped just two playoff games at home all-time.

Edge: Packers

If the Week 2 Packers’ rout over the Giants 35-14 means anything, the Packers have the edge over the Giants. Moreover, the Packers look equally (if not more) dominant and impressive in Week 19, playing at the top of their game.
