Taking place on December 27, 2008, the Emerald Bowl will rock San Francisco. Established to make use of the glorious AT&T Park and to take advantage of the year round beautiful weather in the City by the Bay, The Emerald Bowl brings together the ACC and the Pac-10 in a clash of titans. The Emerald Bowl has put together match-ups that are rare or would never happen otherwise, such as the Florida State Seminoles vs. the University of California, Los Angeles Bruins in Emerald Bowl 2006.
The 2007 Emerald Bowl was a physical contest with the Oregon State Beavers of the Pac-10 facing the University of Maryland Terrapins. The 2007 Emerald Bowl featured an awesome comeback by the Oregon State Beavers after being down by 14 points. Emerald Bowl MVP Yvenson Bernard took the Oregon State Beavers on his back and took the win with a heroic effort.
