Another member in the rising family of North Carolina Country stars, Jason Michael Carroll brings a strong southern voice to his sweet tunes. Waitin’ in the Country was the debut album for Jason Michael Carroll. An exercise in deep and powerful songwriting, the composing of the album proved to be a difficult personal struggle. Most of this frustration was for the leadoff single “Alyssa Lies” a powerful song about death and abuse. The dark subject matter did nothing to slow the song’s ascent up the Country Charts, however, and “Alyssa Lies” was a breakout hit for Jason Michael Carroll.
“Livin’ Our Love Song” followed up with a much lighter tone. The love ballad was another hit for Jason Michael Carroll and paired with “Alyssa Lies” to make Waitin’ in the Country a hit album. With both singles burning up the charts, Jason Michael Carroll released his third hit single “I Can Sleep When I’m Dead”. With an upbeat tempo and a classic Country feel, “I Can Sleep When I’m Dead” was on the different side of the spectrum from the other singles and helped open up Jason Michael Carroll to a whole new audience.
