Bad Boy records CEO Sean “Diddy” Combs teamed up with MTV in 2004 for the TV show Making the Band 3. Diddy’s goal was to find five singers with whom he would form an all-female supergroup on par with girl groups En Vogue and Destiny’s Child. After a search that lasted two TV seasons, Diddy chose singers Aubrey O'Day, D. Woods, Shannon Bex, Dawn Richard, and Aundrea Fimbres to lead his newest group.
In 2006, the singers Diddy assembled formed the group Danity Kane. Danity Kane’s self-titled debut album peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in its first week of release. The album was anchored by the lead single “Show Stopper,” which peaked at No. 10 on the Pop charts. Danity Kane sold over 1 million copies and featured other radio hits “Ride for You” and “One Shot.”
Danity Kane appeared on the second season of MTV’s Making the Band 4 to chronicle the recording of its second album. In 2008, Danity Kane released its second album Welcome to the Dollhouse. Each member of Danity Kane had the opportunity to contribute to the songwriting process. Welcome to the Dollhouse peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and sold over 500,000 copies. The lead single “Damaged” peaked at No. 5 on the Pop 100 chart.
Danity Kane will appear on the third season of Making the Band 4 to chronicle the Making the Band tour alongside other Diddy protégés Day26 and Donnie Klang in late 2008. Danity Kane fans won’t want to miss their opportunity to see the sensational pop quintet live. Order your Danity Kane concert tickets from OnlineTickets.com today!
