About Lyle Lovett

Lyle Lovett is a true renaissance man when it comes to music, dabbling in a little bit of everything from Country to Folk to Rock. Born on November 1, 1957, in Klein, a suburb north of Houston, Texas, Lyle Lovett has gone on to release 13 studio albums and win four Grammy awards. As Lyle Lovett still resides on a farm in his hometown, his small-town roots help inspire his alt-Country style.

Lyle Lovett’s career began in 1986 when he released his self-titled album on MCA Records. The album peaked at No. 14 on Billboard’s Country chart. Lyle Lovett incorporated his Country styling with Folk, Big Band Swing, Jazz, Gospel, and Rock among other styles. Lyle Lovett’s first album contained the memorable songs “Cowboy Man” and “If I Were the Man You Wanted.”

Lyle Lovett has won four Grammy awards, including one for his 1996 album The Road to Ensenada and a Grammy for his collaboration on the song “Funny How Time Slips Away” with Soul singer Al Green. In addition to music, Lyle Lovett has acted in several films, including the 1992 film The Player along with Julia Roberts and Whoopie Goldberg. Lyle Lovett also appeared in 1999’s Cookie’s Fortune and 2007’s Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.

With more charisma than an entire generation of stars, Lyle Lovett has also made his name through his constant tours that go from intimate venues with nothing more than some acoustic instruments to huge arena shows that assault the ears with horns and amplifiers. Lyle Lovett is still on tour in support of 2007 album It’s Not Big, It’s Large and is adding a slew of tour dates in 2009. Order your premium Lyle Lovett tickets securely from today!
