Beyonce began her musical career as a member of the best-selling girl group Destiny’s Child along with three other members. Destiny’s Child disbanded after the release of their hugely successful studio album Survivor. Beyonce began her solo career shortly thereafter, making guest appearances with artists such as Jay Z and Amil, as well as working on soundtrack material for the film Austin Powers in Goldmember.
Beyonce’s debut solo album Dangerously in Love included the hit tracks “Crazy in Love”, “Baby Boy”, “Naughty Girl”, and “Me, Myself and I” all of which sustained several weeks on the Billboard Top 10. Dangerously in Love then went on to reach multi-platinum status, making Beyonce’s debut album a major success.
After the release of Dangerously in Love, Beyonce banded together with her former Destiny’s Child members to put together their final album Destiny Fulfilled, giving birth to such hits as “Lose My Breath”, “Soldier”, and “Cater 2 U”. Beyonce later went on to star in the major box office hit The Pink Panther, which featured the smash hit “Check On It” on the movie’s soundtrack.
After completion of her title role in the hit film Dreamgirls, Beyonce hit the studio to begin work on her next studio album B’Day. “Déjà Vu” was the debut track off B’Day and landed itself at No. 1. “Irreplaceable” and “Ring the Alarm” were later released off of B’Day as well. Beyonce’s third solo album is currently in the works and will be produced by Timbaland.
