Sugarland is sweeter than ever this year, dethroning perennial favorite Brooks & Dunn as “Duo of the Year” at the CMA awards. Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush are the artistic force behind Sugarland. Before co-founding Sugarland, both Nettles and Bush were regulars on the Atlanta folk-rock scene working on similar yet individual projects. Kristian Bush was one half of the group Billy Pilgrim and Jennifer Nettles played in her own band as well as a band called Soul Miners Daughter.
In 2004 Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles decided to combine forces as Sugarland and released their first studio album called Twice the Speed of Life. The first single “Baby Girl” raced to the top of the charts peaking at No. 2. Following the success of “Baby Girl”, Sugarland’s other singles “Something More”, “Down in Mississippi (Up To No Good) and “Just Might (Make Me Believe)” also proved successful.
Soon after the achievements of Twice the Speed of Life, Sugarland went on tour with Brad Paisley and Kenny Chesney. In 2005, Sugarland backed Bon Jovi on the No. 1 hit “Who Says You Can’t Go Home”. Sugarland released their second studio album in 2006 entitled Enjoy the Ride and it featured the hit singles “Want To” and “Settlin’”, “Everyday America” and the stripped-down “Stay”.
Recently, Sugarland released Love On The Inside featuring the single “All I Want to Do” that continues to climb the charts.
