Born to entertain, Janet Jackson’s rise to fame started at an unusually early age alongside her notorious older brother Michael Jackson. Janet Jackson’s label hired Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis to produce her next album Control. The album covered the hits “When I Think of You,” “Control,” and “Let’s Wait Awhile” with much of the video choreography done by Paula Abdul. Janet Jackson’s next album Rhythm Nation 1814 is the only album in history with seven singles to reach the Top Five, including No. 1 hits “Miss You Much,” “Escapade,” “Black Cat,” and “Love Will Never Do Without You,” among others.
Janet Jackson’s fifth studio album janet was released in May 1993 and reached No.1 in 22 countries. janet featured the hit songs “That’s The Way Love Goes,” “Again,” and “If.” “Together Again” – off Janet Jackson’s Velvet Rope album – spent a record-breaking 46 weeks at the Top 100 charts and was Janet Jackson’s eighth No. 1 hit single. In 2001, Janet Jackson rocked the charts with All For You, which debuted at No. 1, followed by albums Damito Jo and 20 Y.O. in the years to come.
