The Arizona natives formed Jimmy Eat World when lifelong friends Jim Adkins and Zach Lind joined with Tom Linton and Mitch Porter in 1993. From there, Jimmy Eat World began experimenting with different sounds akin to the work of other indie bands on the scene like Sunny Day Real Estate and Sense Field.

While touring, Jimmy Eat World amassed a large underground following which led to an eventual deal put on the table by Capitol Records who were extremely impressed with Jimmy Eat World’s sound. Although Capitol was a major label, Jimmy Eat World lost none of its initial underground following and exploded onto the scene with Static Prevails, their first major-label debut.

After a brief bidding war between major labels, Jimmy Eat World’s big break came in the form of Bleed American. Jimmy Eat World signed on with DreamWorks and released Bleed American which featured their biggest single to date “The Middle”. Following an extensive tour in support of Bleed American, Jimmy Eat World released the album Futures which featured the popular single “Work”.

Jimmy Eat World has just finished touring the U.S. and abroad in support of their latest album Chase the Light.
