Hailed as one of the premiere punk-rock bands of all time, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts hit it big in the early ‘80s. Joan Jett parlayed her solo fame and signature brand of rock’n’roll into a successful career as the lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist for Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts would go on to rerecord Joan Jett’s signature song “I Love Rock and Roll” which sent the band’s album Good Music to the top of the charts.

In the ‘90s, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts achieved success with their album Pure and Simple, which spawned the singles “Go Home,” “Eye to Eye,” and “Spinster.” Hard rock fans fell in love with Pure and Simple, and soon Joan Jett and the Blackhearts had released their first greatest hits compilation. It was during this time Joan Jett became known as the “Original Riot Grrrl” and the “Godmother of Punk.”

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts reeled of a string of smash Top 40 singles including “I Hate Myself For Loving You” and toured alongside big name acts The Police, Queen, Aerosmith, and much more.
