Julio Iglesias was born September 23, 1943, in Madrid, Spain. Julio Iglesias was on track to become a lawyer when he suffered a terrible car accident. The accident left him bedridden for three years. To fill the time Julio Iglesias learned to play guitar and wrote songs. In 1996, Julio Iglesias’ album Tango peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Latin Album’s chart and was nominated for Best Latin Pop Album in 1996.

In 2003, Julio Iglesias released Divorcio, which went to No. 1 in several European countries including Spain and France.
