Born Christopher Brian Bridges in Champaign, Illinois, Ludacris was exposed to music ranging from rap to rock by his father. Soon after moving to Atlanta, Georgia, Ludacris began to pursue a musical career of his own. His colorful personality soon became known to Atlanta when Ludacris took to the radio airwaves as DJ Chris Lova Lova at a local radio station. Ludacris got his first exposure as a songwriter for KP and Envy on the remix to their single “Swing My Way”.
It wasn’t until 2003 that Ludacris made his big breakthrough in the music industry. “P-Poppin” was the lead single from Ludacris’ third album Chicken-N-Beer. The Kanye West-produced single “Stand Up” popularized Chicken-N-Beer and became one of Ludacris’ biggest mainstream hits to date. After this boost in popularity, Ludacris’ previous albums began to get more attention and Back for the First Time and Word of Mouf have both been classified three-times platinum.
With the release of his fourth album Red Light District Ludacris showed a great increase in maturity. Ludacris also teamed up with Sum 41 to re-record the popular “Get Back” as a rock crossover single. Release Therapy was released in 2006 and featured the single “Money Maker” produced by Pharrell Williams. In addition to his success in the music industry, Ludacris has ventured successfully into acting with appearances in movies such as Crash, 2 Fast 2 Furious, and Hustle & Flow.
Ludacris will release his next studio album, Theater of the Mind, in September 2008. The album will feature guests ranging from Good Charlotte to Lil Wayne. Do not miss a chance to see Ludacris energetically perform his greatest hits like “Splash Waterfalls”, “Runaway Love”, “Pimpin’ All over the World” and many more from his albums including Grammy Award-winning album Release Therapy when you order Ludacris tickets from OnlineTickets.com!
