Marco Antonio Solís was born in Ario de Rosales, Michoacán, Mexico on December 29, 1959. When Marco Antonio Solís was 12, he founded the group Los Hermanitos Solís (The Little Solis Brothers) with his brother Joel. By the late 1970s, Marco Antonio Solís had moved on to a new group Los Bukis (The Little Kids), who are considered to be the forefathers of Norteño and Tejano music. Marco Antonio Solís recorded and performed with Los Bukis for 20 years before transitioning into a solo career in 1996.
In 1996, Marco Antonio Solís released En Pleno Vuelo, which peaked at No. 3 on the Latin chart. The album scored a string of Top 5 Latin singles including the No. 1 hits “Recuerdos, Tristeza, y Soledad” and “Qué Pena Me Das.” Marco Antonio Solís returned in 1997 with Marco. The album also peaked at No. 3 on the Latin Albums Chart and produced the No. 1 single “La Venia Bendita.”
In 1999, Marco Antonio Solís released Trozos De Mi Alma, which produced two No. 1 singles “Si Te Pudiera Mentir” and “Si No Te Hubieras Ido.” Trozos De Mi Alma was Marco Antonio Solís’ first album to enter the Billboard 200 and first solo No. 1 Latin Album. Marco Antonio Solís released Más De Mi Alma, his second No. 1 Latin album. The album featured the No. 1 Latin single “O Me Voy o Te Vas.”
After proving himself to the Latin public, Marco Antonio Solís was able to achieve the No. 1 spot with each album’s release including 2003’s Tu Amor O Tu Desprecio, 2004’s Razón De Sobra and 2006’s Trozos De Mi Alma, Vol. 2.
