While Glam Metal reigned, No Doubt formed in the 1980s with a very different musical style and theme. Taking their queues from the Ska bands of Jamaica and the UK, No Doubt quickly made a name for themselves in the California underground music scene. Gwen Stefani, the only female member of No Doubt, eventually took over as the lead vocalist. The energy of Gwen Stefani and the beloved live act eventually got No Doubt signed to Interscope Records. Tragic Kingdom would eventually be awarded the elusive diamond certification.

Return to Saturn was a softer album than Tragic Kingdom, and though it did not catch fire it still drew plenty of critical acclaim. No Doubt returned to the top of the charts in 2001 with Rock Steady and single “Hella Good”. Ballad “Underneath It All” earned a Grammy nomination and crossed over to several audiences while “Hey Baby” became the party song of the year. No Doubt sold out venues in every corner of the globe and drew fans in Europe and Asia in the same number they did in the United States.

After touring for years in support of Rock Steady, No Doubt took a hiatus to focus on other projects. Gwen Stefani’s Pop career was stellar, and she could have remained on her own if she chose. However, in 2009 No Doubt reunited and like old flames that had not seen each other in years, the love and energy burned even hotter.
