Ratt has its beginning in the late 1970s as the band, Mickey Ratt. In 1981 the band Mickey Ratt shortened its name to Ratt. By 1982 what would be known as the classic Ratt lineup of vocalist Stephen Pearcy, guitarists Warren DeMartini and Robbin Crosby, bassist Juan Croucier and drummer Bobby Blotzer was formed.
Their debut EP Ratt extended Ratt’s popularity outside of Southern California. With the single “Round and Round” from the album Out of the Cellar Ratt rose to national popularity. Out of the Cellar began a string of four consecutive platinum albums which continued with 1985’s Invasion of Your Privacy, 1986’s Dancing Undercover, and the 1988 release Reach for the Sky.
The current Ratt lineup features Bobby Blotzer, Warren DeMartini, Stephen Pearcy, guitarist Robbie Crane and bassist John Corabi. Ratt continues to tour and build on its already large fan base. To date Ratt has recorded six albums and sold over 30 million records worldwide. A seventh studio album tentatively titled Ratt Comes Back is due out sometime in 2008.
Fans are buzzing about Ratt’s summer 2008 tour, which includes a stop at Rock The Bayou in Houston, Texas. Glam rock, heavy metal and blues-rock all come together when Ratt takes the stage. With an arsenal of hit singles and multiple platinum albums Ratt understands what it takes to put on an exciting show.
