Born in Chockie, Oklahoma, the red-headed Reba McEntire grew up as a typical country girl, riding in rodeos and singing with her brothers and sisters. In 1976, Reba McEntire released her first successful single “Three Sheets to the Wind/I’d Really Love to See You Tonight” which solidified Reba McEntire’s name in Country music.
During the ‘80s, Reba McEntire steered toward more pop-oriented country ballads which proved lucrative. In 1986 Reba McEntire released the album Whoever’s In New England, which spawned the single “Whoever’s In New England” and won her a Grammy award. Reba McEntire’s string of No. 1 hits continued through the ‘80s and into the ‘90s. Some of Reba McEntire’s biggest hits of the ‘80s include “New Fool at an Old Game,” “I Know How He Feels,” “You Lie,” and “Fancy.”
In the ‘90s, Reba McEntire released several No. 1 hits featuring duets with Country stars like Vince Gill on the song “The Heart Won’t Lie” and Linda Davis on “Does He Love You.” Aside from acting in several movies including One Night at McCool’s and Forever Love, Reba McEntire also showcased her acting chops on the small screen, starring in her own sitcom Reba.
Reba McEntire soon returned to music and released several more successful albums, including the Duets album that featured the likes of LeAnn Rimes, Justin Timberlake, Rascal Flatts, Faith Hill, Kenny Chesney, and Trisha Yearwood. The duet with Kelly Clarkson “Because of You” appears on the album and was featured during Reba McEntire’s and Kelly Clarkson’s 2 Worlds 2 Voices Tour in 2008.
