Rush

Details

Boasting passionate vocals, eclectic lyrics, masterful musicianship, and electrifying stage performances, Rush has surpassed all other ‘70s and ‘80s rock bands. Over the past four decades, the Canadian-native rockers of Rush have journeyed from blues-inspired heavy metal to hard rock to progressive rock to modern rock and the eventual return to their rock-and-roll roots.

The Rush empire began after the release of Rush’s self-titled album Rush hit the shelves in 1974. Since then, Rush has been known for lyrical motifs that delve in the science fiction realm, relate to the struggle of the working man, and address social themes. Over the years, Rush has compiled a collection of smash hits, including “Far Cry,” “Tom Sawyer,” “Closer to the Heart,” and “The Spirit of Radio.”

Although Rush has never won a Grammy Award (though they were nominated several times), Rush has earned a number of Juno Awards which recognize primarily Canadian artists. Rush’s ability to explore different stylistic techniques within their own genre and produce solid, cohesive music has acquired them 24 gold records and 13 platinum records, which places them fifth behind the Beatles and KISS for the most gold and platinum records sold by an artist.

Since forming in the ‘70s, Rush hasn’t stopped creating music, proving once and again their longevity as legendary rockers. Currently the band is promoting their newest album Snakes and Arrows during their extended 2008 Snakes and Arrows tour. Get ready for more high-energy live shows from the legendary trio when you order Rush tickets from OnlineTickets.com today!
