The alt-rock quintet Saosin boasts tracks that feature a heavy guitar sound and powerful lyrics. What started with only three members in the summer of 2003 with Beau Burchell, Justin Shekoski, and Anthony Green, Saosin released their debut EP Translating the Name. Translating the Name was an overnight success, especially on online markets which helped Saosin reached major popularity.

Before setting out on tour with bands Boys Night Out and Anatomy of a Ghost, Saosin added drummer Chris Sorenson to their lineup. After making appearances on the Warped Tour, Saosin was back in the studio working on their second EP Saosin. Saosin went back on tour opening for bands Avenged Sevenfold and Coheed and Cambria. While on tour, Saosin released the music video for the song “Bury Your Head”.

After much promotion and public appearances, Saosin released their first full-length studio album Saosin in August 2006. The hit “Voices” reached No. 25 on the Modern Rock charts. Saosin went back on tour to round out the rest of 2006 and essentially all of 2007, adding some international sites such as Europe, Australia, Japan, and Indonesia to their list of stops. In the summer of 2007, Saosin opened for Linkin Park on the Projekt Revolution tour.

In March 2008, Saosin released their live performance DVD Come Close, which features Saosin performing a live concert in Philadelphia. Currently, Saosin is working on their next studio album which is set for release in early 2009. After touring alongside Armor of Sleep and Meriwether in 2008, it won’t be long before Saosin hits the tour trail once again.
