Tim Reynolds is best known for his work with the Dave Matthews Band and as a solo artist to boot. Tim Reynolds has appeared on over 40 albums since his career began in the 1980s. Tim Reynolds was born in Wiesbaden, Germany, to a military family. It was in Charlottesville, Virginia, at Miller’s Bar & Pub that Tim Reynolds would meet future collaborator Dave Matthews.
In 1987, Tim Reynolds recorded his own full-length album A Collection of Spontaneous Improvisations. Tim Reynolds' band TR3 released its cassette-only self-titled album in 1988, which featured the songs “Uncover the Reason” and “On the Edge.” By 1993, Tim Reynolds was performing acoustic sets around Charlottesville, Virginia, with friend Dave Matthews.
In addition to releasing his own album Stream in 1993, Tim Reynolds contributed guitar on several tracks on Dave Matthews Band’s album Remember Two Things including “Minarets” and “I’ll Back You Up.” Tim Reynolds continued to appear on various Dave Matthews Band albums including Under the Table Dreaming, Crash and Before These Crowded Streets.
In 1996, Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds began a 40-date U.S. tour. The tour spawned the popular album Live at Luther College and featured an original Tim Reynolds track “Stream.” In 2003, Tim Reynolds reunited with Dave Matthews for another acoustic tour in support of Dave Matthew’s solo album Some Devil.
