What can I say, except: FANTASTICO!!! I saw Zucchero at Place des Arts last Friday. It was, undoubtedly, the best live performance I have ever seen and heard. Zucchero, live, sounds just as good or even better than he does on his records. He does not need any smoke and mirrors. He is a true artist and talent. I have one complaint, though: he was supposed to begin the concert at 8pm but only started at after 9pm. Most everyone around me said he looked a bit tipsy when he swaggered onto the stage. I will give him the benefit of the doubt, but I hope such a great talent does not end up like Elvis - that would be a crime especially for those close to him!

I saw Zucchero on the 27th at Carnegie Hall. He was fantastic. Up until now, the only cponcerts I have ever been to were huge name rock acts, or smal scale punk shows. Ive seen everybody from Pink Floyd, to Bad Brains, live. My girlfriend is from Italy, and she had been trying to sell me on Zucchero for over a year now. After hearing his music, I came to the conclusion that he was okay, and I liked his music - enough to go see him live. The show was electrifying, and his band has some serious talent, especially the bass player - he rocked hard. All the songs were fantastic, and performed to perfection. The crowd roared, and knew most of the lyrics - even the Italian lyrics. He did like 3 encores, only one of which I didnt care for - a song where they dubbed Pavoratti's singing into the performance. But overall I give it an "A", I had a great time.
