Making his pro-boxing debut in August 2000, Marcos Ramirez has notched wins over formidable opponents, including Mike Juarez in January 2004, Priest Smalls for the WBO-NABO title in 2005, Jesus Salvador Perez in October 2006, and Alvin Brown in December 2006. After suffering personal setbacks, including the loss of his infant son, Marcos Ramirez took some time off from the boxing world.
In May 2007, Marcos Ramirez returned to the ring, refocused and re-energized in the quest for a world title.
