Name change was the best thing to happen to the rays. Still can't believe that season! I was able to make it out to the trop about once a month and will try to catch a game more often if the rays can keep it up!

Every good exorcist knows that getting the Devil out is a good thing. Apparently the Tampa Bay Rays knew the same and dumped the “Devil” from their names and have been soaring to big wins ever since. The short history of the Tampa Bay Rays has been a long – and losing – one for their fans. With the Tampa Bay Rays struggling since joining the MLB in 1998 and finishing last in 2007, the Rays’ 2008 Cinderella season won’t soon be forgotten.
The Rays made some big strides and improvements last season, propelling young talents Carlos Pena, Carl Crawford, B.J. Upton, and Evan Longoria into the spotlight. While Scott Kazmir and James Shields take care of business on the hill, keep an eye on David Price – the #1 overall pick in the 2007 draft – and see what the young hurler brings to the Rays’ pitching rotation.
The Tampa Bay Rays have their work cut out for them, competing in a tough AL East. The brutal schedule will see them taking on perennial favorites New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, along with the resurgent Baltimore Orioles. After wrapping up the 2008 regular season at 97-65, the Tampa Bay Rays have the stuff to not only compete in the stacked division but come out on top.
The Tampa Bay area is home to exciting NFL Buccaneers, NHL Lightning, and MLB Rays sports action. The Tampa Bay Rays play out of Tropicana Field in sunny St. Petersburg, Florida.
