Founded in 1996, the FC Dallas team was originally named the Dallas Burns, but after moving to Pizza Hut Park in 2005, owners of the Dallas Burns decided to put a more soccer-fitting name to their team. After studying European soccer names they came up with FC (football club) Dallas. With last season’s record of 13-12-5 and a playoff appearance, the FC Dallas are expecting this season to be even better.
Striker Kenny Cooper is the real deal. Hired from Manchester United in 2006, Cooper scored 11 goals in his first season with the FC Dallas, but after a serious injury, he missed most of the 2007 season.
