It’s always showtime in Los Angeles, especially with all the superstars on the LA Lakers hard court! Hoops fans just can’t get enough of 2008 NBA MVP Kobe Bryant’s gravity-defying circus shots, buzzer beaters, and unstoppable drives, Lamar Odom’s near triple-double numbers, and Pau Gasol wreaking havoc in the paint. The LA Lakers’ power trio heated up and helped the Lakers finish the season at 57-25, good for the No. 1 seed in the West.
In the playoffs, the Lakers defeated the Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz, and San Antonio Spurs in convincing fashion before facing the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals. The Lakers-Celtics finals match up hearkened back to the classic rivalry between the two teams throughout the ‘80s. While the Los Angeles Lakers could not overcome the Boston Celtics, basketball fans could easily see that the Lakers would be a threat in the West for years to come.
During the 2008-09 NBA regular season, the Los Angeles Lakers returned in full force with the unstoppable Kobe, Gasol, Odom, Derek Fisher, and Andrew Bynum igniting the starting rotation. With Andrew Bynum going down with injury, Trevor Ariza has stepped up and helped his team rack up plenty of wins already. Jordan Farmar, Sasha Vujacic, Luke Walton, and Josh Powell can all come off the pine, making the LA Lakers roster one of the deepest in the league.
With nine-time NBA Championship-winning Coach Phil Jackson running his triangle offense to perfection, the Los Angeles Lakers have snagged the Pacific Division title and are headed back to the playoffs. Cheer on the Los Angeles Lakers on the road or join the Lakers faithful, including Jack Nicholson and Denzel Washington, at home inside the Staples Center when you order your premium LA Lakers tickets securely from OnlineTickets.com today!
