Donning the thunder green and lightning yellow, the mighty Oregon Ducks dominate collegiate athletics with 14 varsity sports. From the championship caliber golf team to the storied track and field team which has earned Eugene, Oregon the nickname “Track Town, USA,” the Oregon Ducks are no strangers to big wins. But it is the success of the historic basketball and football teams that put the gleam in Oregon Ducks fans’ eyes.
Last season, Mike Bellotti coached the Oregon Ducks football team, led on the field by quarterback Dennis Dixon and running back Jonathan Stewart, to a 9-4 record in the cutthroat Pac-10. Coming off of a 56-21 victory against South Florida in the 2007 Sun Bowl, the Oregon Ducks are set to rock Autzen Stadium for the 2008-09 season. The fans are behind the Ducks as they look to extend their streak of 55 straight sellouts into the next season. In 2006, Autzen Stadium was called the most intimidating college football stadium in the nation.
Oregon Ducks basketball is coming off of an exciting 18-14 season that earned them the No. 8 seed in the NCAA tournament. Led by seniors Malik Hairston and Maarty Leunen, the Oregon Ducks topped the Pac-10 in four categories, including scoring. After a tough loss to the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the first round, the Ducks are looking to bounce back from last season’s record. With 9,000 people including the Pit Crew and other dedicated fans rocking McArthur Court along with sensational sophomore Tajuan Porter and head coach Ernie Kent looking for a sixth NCAA tournament bid, the Ducks seem destined to win it all.
Join the intimidating crowds at McArthur Court and Autzen Stadium in making Eugene an unwelcome place for visitors. Whether it is the historic Civil War game against the Oregon State Beavers or a border rivalry with the University of Washington Huskies, help the University of Oregon’s mascot, Donald Duck, sing the praises of “Mighty Oregon” and cheer on the Ducks to a winning season when you order Oregon Ducks tickets from OnlineTickets.com today!
