Troy University offers a variety of sports like rodeo, volleyball, golf and tennis for Trojans sports enthusiasts in addition to Troy’s renowned football and basketball teams. Despite a lackluster season for Troy Basketball, the Trojans refuse to give up this season.
Troy Football, led by Coach Larry Blakeney, achieved an 8-5 regular season record and a 6-1 Sun Belt Conference record, tying for first place with Florida Atlantic University in the Sun Belt Conference. The Trojans have a star in Junior LB Boris Lee. With new QB Jamie Hampton, the Trojans cannot go wrong in 2008. The Troy Trojans Football team makes its home at Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium in Troy, Alabama.
Troy Basketball, led by Coach Don Maestri, earned a 12-19 regular season record and is ready to get the Troy Trojans back to their winning ways. The Trojans have had trouble obtaining the big W after switching from the Atlantic Sun Conference. However, Coach Maestri plans to change up the Trojans squad with newest addition guard Richard Delk, a transfer student from Mississippi State. Troy Basketball currently makes its home at Trojan Arena.
