Billed as the “Greatest Rodeo on Earth” and the “World Series of Rodeo,” the National Finals Rodeo – or NFR – is the premier championship event of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. The NFR showcases the nation’s top 15 competitors in seven categories, including bareback riding, bull riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping, and – just for the ladies – barrel racing.
Las Vegas will host the 51st annual National Finals Rodeo from Thursday, Dec. 3 to Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009. Rodeo fans are treated to 10-straight days of exciting rodeo action inside the Thomas & Mack Center. Each year, NFR tickets sell out; this year is no different as upward of 170,000 fans are expected to attend the 10-day affair featuring 120 of the top professional cowboys and cowgirls in the sport.
