The Orlando Miracle began the 1999 WNBA season as the sister team of the Orlando Magic. By 2003, the franchise decided to move out of the shadow of the Orlando Magic and on to new horizons. Lindsay Whalen and Asjha Jones led the Connecticut Sun in closely contested victories over the New York Liberty, Chicago Sky and Minnesota Lynx.
