In Fall 2008, the Royal Shakespeare Company begins its latest production of William Shakespeare’s tragic play, Hamlet. For his revenge plot to go unnoticed, Hamlet must appear as though he is insane. Because of his erratic behavior, Hamlet’s love interest Ophelia is told to stay away him by her father Polonius and brother Laertes. Hamlet’s lust for revenge sinks him deeper into madness as he accidentally kills Polonius, causing Laertes and Claudius to devise a plot to murder Prince Hamlet. Shakespeare’s Hamlet has dire consequences for its unending cycle of murder and revenge.
