  •      This is my 4th Cirque Du Soleil show I've seen, and I was no less than ecstatic to see this show. I am a very big fan of Cirque, and have seen 3 others (La Nouba, O, Varekai). Being these 3 were all spellbinding, i expected the same in Corteo.  I was wrong.
         Just arriving there was terrible. I had to pay $20 to park my car half a mile away from the big top. I painfully gave that $20 and told myself the show will be totally worth it. I bought a SMALL DIET coke (tasting like tap water) and had to pay $6. I am not kidding. The seats were made of bare steel, amd extremely uncomfortable (this was VIP seating, I might add). The area smelled like stale popcorn, but I got over it. Finally the show started. I smiled momentarily, but my face soom changed.
         There was so much dialogue! The costumes were pretty bad, and the main character was so obnoxious. The only good thing I got out of that show was Valentyna Pahlevanyan (the most hilarious ukrainian midget you'll ever meet). She was very talented and had tremendous personality. She made me laugh and gasp with her body language and contortion abilities. Thanks to her, I don't completely despise it. The show still lacked the "Cirque-like" aura, I was disappointed.
         In short, the show is okay if you are very wealthy, like sitting on very stiff surfaces and have never seen or heard of Cirque.
