Back in Black lyrics:
Back in black, I hit the sack
It's been too long, I'm glad to be back
Yes I am getting loose, from the noose
That's kept me hanging about
I been living like a star, cause it's getting me high
Forget the hearse, cause I’ll never die
I got nine lives, cat's eyes
Losin' everyone of them and runnin' wild
Cause I'm back, yes I'm back, well I'm back
Yes I'm back, well I’m back, back
Well, back in black, yes I'm back in black
Back in the back of a Cadillac
Number one with a bullet, I'm a power pack
Yes I am, in a bang with the gang
They gotta catch me if they want me to hang
Cause I'm back on the track and I'm beating the flack
Nobody's gonna get me on another rap
So look at me now, I'm just makin' my play
Don't try to push your luck, just get out of my way
Cause I'm back, yes I'm back, well I'm back
Yes I'm back, well I'm back, back
Well I'm back in black, yes I'm back in black
Well I'm back, yes I'm back
Well I'm back, yes I'm back
Well I'm back, back
Well I'm back in black, yes I'm back in black
Well I'm back, back
Well I'm back, back
Well I'm back, back
Back, Back
Back in Black, yes I'm back in black
Outta sight
Back in Black: Background
The AC/DC song “Back in Black” was written by AC/DC guitarists Angus Young, Malcolm Young, and vocalist Brian Johnson. “Back in Black” was the third single released from AC/DC’s groundbreaking 1980 rock album Back in Black. The Back in Black album was AC/DC’s first recording with new lead singer Brian Johnson. “Back in Black” was done in tribute to AC/DC’s late singer Bon Scott who died in early 1980. “Back in Black” lyrics leave listeners with the distinct impression that not even death can stop AC/DC from spreading their rock gospel.
Back in Black: Success
“Back in Black” became a Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1981. The “Back in Black” single sold over 2 million copies and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). On the strength of the “Back in Black” single and the singles “You Shook Me All Night Long” and “Hells Bells,” the Back in Black album sold over 40 million copies worldwide, including 22 million in the U.S. alone. With the Back in Black Tour looming, AC/DC fans were eager to get their hands on AC/DC tickets.
