Originally recorded by Merry Clayton of The Raelettes in 1963, the worldwide hit “The Shoop Shoop Song (It’s In His Kiss)” has been rerecorded by a bevy of artists over time, including Aretha Franklin, Linda Ronstadt, The Supremes, and Cher. The version by Cher was featured on the Mermaids movie soundtrack as well as on Cher’s 21st studio album Love Hurts, eventually released in 1991. Once again, the popularity of “The Shoop Shoop Song” soared once again, and the song fared well on the charts from North America to Europe and beyond.

With the success of “The Shoop Shoop Song,” it was no wonder that the song enjoyed a prime spot in Cher’s wildly successful Do You Believe? Tour in 1999-2000.
