Sixx:A.M.: Formation of Sixx A.M.
Sixx:A.M is an American rock band formed by Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx. After a near-death experience from a drug overdose, Nikki Sixx was pronounced dead then brought back to life. This experience was the major influence for the Sixx:A.M. song “Kickstart My Heart.” After recovering from a decade-long drug binge, Nikki Sixx examined his diaries filled with his memories written at a time when he was extremely addicted to heroin and released a book called The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star. The book did so well that Nikki Sixx formed Sixx:A.M. and released an album entitled The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack. Sixx:A.M. band members include Nikki Sixx, James Michael, and DJ Ashba.

The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack features three singles: “Pray For Me,” “Accidents Can Happen,” and “Life is Beautiful” which hit No. 3 on the charts in May 2008. Sixx:A.M. made their debut at the Crash Mansion where they performed five songs from The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack.
Sixx:A.M.: Sixx A.M. at Crue Fest
Nikki Sixx wanted to create a music festival in the same vein as Ozzfest but Nikki Sixx also wanted to include both Sixx:A.M. and Motley Crue in this festival. The only way to get both bands on the bill was to create his very own festival dubbed Crue Fest and aptly named “The Loudest Show On Earth.” Nikki Sixx and Motley Crue agreed they wanted Crue Fest to embody all that is rock and roll. Aside from Sixx:A.M. and Motley Crue, a number of other alternative rock bands will be performing in Crue Fest including Buckcherry, Trapt, and Papa Roach. Crue Fest is equipped with multiple stages and is currently scheduled to play shows all across the United States.
