Joe Jonas: The Beginning
Joe Jonas was born Joseph Adam Jonas on August 15, 1989, in Casa Grande, Arizona, to parents Denise and Kevin Jonas Sr., a former pastor. Joe Jonas is the second oldest of four Jonas Brothers. Because of Kevin Jonas Sr.’s job as a pastor, the Jonas family moved around frequently, settling for a brief time in Arizona and later Dallas, Texas. However, when Kevin Jonas Sr. was offered a job as a minister in Wyckoff, New Jersey, the Jonas family was finally able to plant roots.

After Joe Jonas’ younger brother Nick Jonas was discovered in a hair salon, Denise Jonas began bringing her sons to auditions in New York City. Joe Jonas and older brother Kevin Jonas appeared in commercials for Burger King, Clorox and Office Depot. Eventually, Joe Jonas followed his younger brother Nick Jonas to Broadway, appearing in the children’s chorus for the 2002 Baz Luhrman production of Puccini's La Boheme.
