Search and Destroy Lyrics:
We are scanning the scene
in the city tonight
We are looking for you
to start up a fight
There is an evil feeling
in our brains
But it is nothing new
you know it drives us insane
Running,
On our way
Hiding,
You will pay
Dying,
One thousand deaths
Running,
On our way
Hiding,
You will pay
Dying,
One thousand deaths
Searching,
Seek and Destroy
Searching,
Seek and Destroy
Searching,
Seek and Destroy
Searching,
Seek and Destroy
There is no escape
and that is for sure
This is the end we won't take any more
Say goodbye
to the world you live in
You have always been taking
but now you're giving
Running,
On our way
Hiding,
You will pay
Dying,
One thousand deaths
Running,
On our way
Hiding,
You will pay
Dying,
One thousand deaths
Searching,
Seek and Destroy
Searching,
Seek and Destroy
Searching,
Seek and Destroy
Searching,
Seek and Destroy
Our brains are on fire
with the feeling to kill
And it won't go away
until our dreams are fulfilled
There is only one thing
on our minds
Don't try running away
`cause you're the one we will find
Running,
On our way
Hiding,
You will pay
Dying,
One thousand deaths
Running,
On our way
Hiding,
You will pay
Dying,
One thousand deaths
Searching,
Seek and Destroy
Searching,
Seek and Destroy
Searching,
Seek and Destroy
Searching,
Seek and Destroy
Seek and Destroy: Concept
Written by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich on Metallica’s first album Kill ‘Em All, “Seek and Destroy” is one of the first Thrash Metal songs ever and dates back to before Metallica was even on an independent label. The concept of “Search and Destroy” is about target vengeance on a certain person or place, and the lyrics caught on with Thrash fans in the early 1980s. “Search and Destroy” is an old-school favorite of fans with Metallica tickets and is always seen as one of the highlights of a Metallica concert.
Seek and Destroy: In Concert
Those who have owned Metallica tickets before know that “Search and Destroy” is often used to close Metallica concerts. Having been in their set list for over 20 years, “Search and Destroy” is also a favorite of Metallica themselves. To keep “Search and Destroy” fresh for both the band and fans with Metallica tickets, the song is often tweaked for live performances and includes plenty of improvisation from both guitars and bass.
Late Metallica bassist Cliff Burton made “Seek and Destroy” famous in concert, but former bass player Jason Newsted and current member Robert Trujillo each have their own live interpretations of “Seek and Destroy”. Since it closes Metallica concerts and can go for more than half an hour in length, “Search and Destroy” always draws the most energy from fans with Metallica tickets and the song is never played the same way twice.
