Sugarland: The Band’s Beginnings
In 2003, Kristian Bush and Kristen Hall came together to form the country-music act Sugarland. The duo soon became a trio when Bush and Hall invited Jennifer Nettles on board as lead vocalist. Prior to Sugarland, Jennifer Nettles headed Georgia-based bands like Soul Miners and the Jennifer Nettles Band, Kristen Hall was a solo singer/songwriter, and Kristian Bush was part of the Billy Pilgrim duo in the 1990s.
Sugarland: Breakout of the Band
Before long, Sugarland had snagged a record deal with Mercury Nashville in 2004. Later that year, Sugarland recorded their debut album Twice the Speed of Life and released the leadoff single “Baby Girl.” On the strength of chart-topping singles “Baby Girl,” “Something More,” “Just Might Make Me Believe,” and “Down in Mississippi (Up to No Good),” the Sugarland album Twice the Speed of Life soared to multi-platinum status and punched Sugarland’s tickets to stardom.
Sugarland: Much Ado About a Duo
In January 2006, Kristen Hall left the Grammy-nominated act Sugarland to pursue a solo career. As a duo, Sugarland went on to record its sophomore effort Enjoy the Ride in November 2006. Just as they did with Twice the Speed of Life, Sugarland enjoyed a whirlwind of success with the multi-platinum Enjoy the Ride, which spawned the No. 1 singles “Want To” and “Settlin’” and Top 10 hits “Everyday America” and “Stay.” On top of the country-music world, Jennifer Nettles and Bon Jovi collaborated on the No. 1 hit single “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” in 2006.
With Sugarland’s recent success on the charts and in the country-music industry at large, fans flocked to buy Sugarland tickets to see the rising duo during their first headlining tour. Fans with Sugarland tickets had a chance to see Little Big Town and Jake Owen open for Sugarland on tour. At the 2007 CMA Awards, a humbled Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush received the award for “Vocal Duo of the Year,” a title long held by country-music supergroup Brooks & Dunn.
Sugarland: Love on the Inside
Sugarland followed up Enjoy the Ride with the 2008 album Love on the Inside. The leadoff single “All I Want to Do” was released in May 2008 and became an instant hit for Sugarland, debuting at No. 27 on the Country-music charts and eventually claiming the No. 1 spot in August 2008. Fans of Sugarland counted down the days until their favorite country-music band would announce a concert tour in support of Love on the Inside.
Fans would not have to wait long as Sugarland tickets would soon go on sale for the duo’s Love on the Inside Tour, kicking off on September 13, 2008. With 25 tour dates scheduled, Sugarland tickets were a hot sell as fans could not wait to see Sugarland and special guests Ashton Shepherd and Kellie Pickler performing live in concert. Sugarland tickets featured Sugarland’s growing catalog of hits, including “Baby Girl,” “Just Might Make Me Believe,” “Something More,” “Want To,” “Settlin’,” “Stay,” “Already Gone,” “All I Want to Do,” and much more!
Sugarland: Here to Stay
Sugarland’s star continues to rise in the country-music universe. At the 2008 CMA Awards, Sugarland enjoyed a big night, taking home honors for “Vocal Duo of the Year” once again in a category that boasts Brooks & Dunn, Big & Rich, Montgomery Gentry, and The Wreckers. Sugarland’s smash hit “Stay” won the CMA Award for “Song of the Year” which recognized Jennifer Nettles’ talent as a songwriter. As one of the most beloved (and soon to be most decorated) country-music duos, Sugarland is sure to continue serving up more No. 1 hits, rack up plenty more awards, and sell a ton of Sugarland tickets in the near future and for years to come.
