Keith Urban: Early Years
Born on October 26, 1967, it wouldn’t be long before the New Zealand-born, Australia-raised Keith Urban would immerse himself in music, learning techniques and winning singing contests at a young age. After recording his first solo album in Australia in 1990, Keith Urban enjoyed No. 1 success with a handful of country hits. By 1992, Keith Urban planted his roots in Nashville, Tennessee, and worked as a back up for the likes of Country greats Brooks & Dunn and Alan Jackson. Keith Urban fronted the Country-Rock trio known as The Ranch, which released their sole album in 1997.
Keith Urban: Solo Debut
The Ranch did not last long as Keith Urban would soon pursue a solo career come 1998. After some personal struggles, Keith Urban cleaned up his act and made his American debut in 1999 with the self-titled album Keith Urban. The album, which has since gone platinum, spawned three Top Five hits in “But for the Grace of God,” “Your Everything,” and “Where the Blacktop Ends.” Keith Urban earned “Top New Male Vocalist” and “Horizon Award” honors at the 2001 ACM and CMA Awards, respectively. Renowned as a talented performer, songwriter and lyricist, and multi-instrumentalist – playing the banjo, ganjo, piano, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, mandolin, and more – Keith Urban was poised to be one of the hottest tickets in Country music.
Keith Urban: Golden Road
In 2002, a relatively new face in Country, Keith Urban released the breakout single “Somebody Like You” off of the album Golden Road. The corresponding music video, featuring Keith Urban’s rumored romance at the time Niki Taylor, enjoyed plenty of airplay on Country music-video channels. With “Somebody Like You,” “Who Wouldn’t Wanna Be Me,” and monster crossover single “You’ll Think of Me” soaring to the No. 1 spot on the Country charts, fans lined up to buy Keith Urban tickets to see the multi-platinum artist on tour with the likes of Brooks & Dunn and Kenny Chesney.
Keith Urban: Be Here
The hits kept rolling in for Keith Urban in 2004 when he released the album Be Here, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Albums chart. Keith Urban launched his first-ever headlining tour, the Be Here Tour ‘04, which featured special guest Katrina Elam; it seemed as Keith Urban ticketholders at every tour date knew all the lyrics to No. 1 singles “Better Life,” “Making Memories of Us,” “Days Go By” and more.
Heading into 2005, Keith Urban tickets were hot sellers throughout Keith Urban’s Alive in ’05 Tour. With a lengthy list of tour dates and hits flooding radio airwaves, it’s no wonder that Keith Urban won the ACM Award for “Album of the Year” and “Top Male Vocalist” along with the CMA Award for “Male Vocalist of the Year” and “Entertainer of the Year.” For the first time, Keith Urban hopped across the Pond with a packed schedule of European tour dates.
Keith Urban: Success Continues
Already a superstar with a Grammy and plenty of ACM and CMA hardware on his shelves, Keith Urban made history in August 2006 when his new single “Once in a Lifetime” debuted at No. 17 spot – the highest debut ever for a Country single on the Billboard Country charts. The album Love Pain & the whole crazy thing hit the stores in November 2006 and soared to No. 1 just as its predecessor had done.
With the album selling well and hits “Stupid Boy,” “I Told You So,” and “Everybody” already radio favorites, fans counted down the days until Keith Urban tickets went on sale. Keith Urban launched a tour in support of Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing in 2007 and would join Carrie Underwood during the Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Carnival Ride Tour in January 2008. The demand for Keith Urban tickets were sky high as fans did not want to miss two of the biggest stars in Country for the price of one ticket.
Keith Urban: Current News & Tour
It is a well-known fact that Keith Urban and Australian actress Nicole Kidman are married and have welcomed their first daughter, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, into the world in July 2008. Keith Urban’s latest work was a radio release of “You Look Good in My Shirt,” which appeared on his Greatest Hits: 19 Kids compilation album. Many fans with Keith Urban tickets will recognize "You Look Good in My Shirt" as a cut from his Golden Roadalbum.
