Snuff Lyrics:
Bury all your secrets in my skin
Come away with innocence
And leave me with my sins
The air around me still feels like a cage
And love is just a camouflage
For what resembles rage again

So if you love me let me go
And run away before I know
My heart is just too dark to care
I can’t destroy what isn't there
Deliver me into my fate
If I'm alone I cannot hate
I don't deserve to have you
My smile was taken long ago
If I can change I hope I never know

I still press your letters to my lips
And cherish them in parts of me that savor every kiss
I couldn't face a life without your light
But all of that was ripped apart...
When you refused to fight

So save your breath I will not hear
I think I made it very clear
You couldn't hate enough to love
Is that supposed to be enough?
I only wish you weren't my friend
Then I could hurt you in the end
I never claimed to be a Saint
My own was banished long ago
It took the death of hope to let you go

So break yourself against my stones
And spit your pity in my soul
You never needed any help
You sold me out to save yourself
And I wont listen to your shame
You ran away you're all the same
Angels lie to keep control
My love was punished long ago
If you still care, don't ever let me know

If you still care, don't ever let me know...

Snuff: Song Meaning
Like “Dead Memories” on the new Slipknot album All Hope is Gone, “Snuff” is a song about the death of a relationship and the pain it inflicts on a person. Inspired by the breakup of his marriage to his wife, singer Corey Taylor combines “Dead Memories” and “Snuff” to tackle the lasting and immediate effects of a long-term love ending. Fans with Slipknot tickets are still divided over the use of acoustic songs, but many can identify with the lyrics to “Snuff”.

Snuff: Corey Taylor & Rick Rubin
Fans with Slipknot tickets have seen singer Corey Taylor’s love for acoustic music for years now, starting with “Bother” from his other band Stone Sour and continuing with Slipknot songs like “Vermillion, Pt. 2” and “Circle”. Producer Rick Rubin has worked closely with Slipknot and given them new directions to explore and grow musically. With Rick Rubin producing All Hope is Gone, Corey Taylor and Slipknot as a whole are allowed to venture into unseen territory with great results. Traditional fans with Slipknot tickets love new rough-and-tumble songs like “This Cold Black”.

Snuff: 2009 Slipknot Tour
As co-headliners of the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, Slipknot shocked fans with Slipknot tickets by placing traditional closing anthem “Surfacing” as the opening track. The 2009 Slipknot set list is bound to be full of surprises as new material is used and rare songs like “Purity” and “Prosthetics” may find their way into the concert. Slipknot has played acoustic ballad “Vermillion, Pt. 2” live before and “Snuff” could make an appearance or two. Fans will just have to buy their Slipknot tickets and head out to the show to find out.
