Tush Lyrics

ZZ Top

Before breaking the charts & all the rules with album Eliminator, ZZ Top jumped to the top of Texas Pop culture with “Tush”.

Tush Lyrics:
I been up, I been down.
Take my word, my way around.
I ain't askin' for much.
I said, “Lord, take me downtown,
I'm just lookin' for some tush.”

I been bad, I been good,
Dallas, Texas, Hollywood.
I ain't askin' for much.
I said, “Lord, take me downtown,
I'm just lookin' for some tush.”

Take me back way back home,
Not by myself, not alone.
I ain't askin' for much.
I said, “Lord, take me downtown,
I'm just lookin' for some tush.”

Tush: Hitting Texas
Before they took over the world with their Blues-Rock, ZZ Top – Frank Beard, Billy Gibbons, and Dusty Hills – created their myth in Texas. Forming from two rival bands, ZZ Top only featured three members but had a titanic sound. With trademarked bass grooves and addictive guitar licks, ZZ Top tickets were a rare chance to see something different in the late 1970s. Single “La Grange” first brought ZZ Top some national attention and made album Tres Hombres a definitive classic that sold plenty of ZZ Top albums in and out of Texas. Follow-up album Fandango! would only help formulate the legacy of ZZ Top.

Tush: Fandango!
While wowing audiences with non-stop tours, the driving rhythm of ZZ Top’s music mixed with sexual innuendo to make a party-ready brew. “Tush” would stand out as one of the top songs in the discography of ZZ Top and would personify all the things that make the band great to this day. In addition to “Tush”, ZZ Top also included a few live cuts on Fandango! that delivered listeners the same sonic onslaught that fans with ZZ Top tickets experienced in concert. Though it was not the multi-platinum Eliminator, Fandango! would set the base for the landmark album.

Tush: ZZ Top on Tour
Decades after “Tush”, “La Grange”, and the success of Eliminator, ZZ Top continues to use the touring trail to delight ticketholders. With hundreds of bands that call themselves followers, the reach of ZZ Top can be felt outside their own music. The two beards and a man named Beard will be on tour again in 2009 to propagate the cult of ZZ Top, including a 70,000-fan gig in their hometown of Houston, Texas, for RodeoHouston.
