From basketball to baseball, football to futbol, & beyond, Houston is filled with exciting sports entertainment tickets!

Houston Sports: Sporting Culture

Houston, Texas, is a city teeming with rich sports culture, from collegiate sports to the pro ranks. Houston boast tickets for just about every major professional sport, including teams in MLB baseball, NFL football, NBA and WNBA basketball, MLS soccer, AHL hockey, along with a couple of college teams in the Rice University Owls and University of Houston Cougars. Houston tickets to sports events around town are a hot sell all year long.

Houston Sports: Astros History

Since the MLB Houston Astros baseball team (formerly the Colt .45) was founded in 1962, fans have clamored to buy Houston tickets to see the Houston Astros in action. By 1965, Houston tickets would invite baseball fans to see the newly minted Houston Astros playing inside the groundbreaking domed stadium, the Astrodome - a name that honored Houston's ties to NASA and contributions to the U.S. space program. The Houston Astros also introduced the use of "AstroTurf" to the game.

Over the decades, Houston Astros stars such as Nolan Ryan, Larry Dierker, Jackie Robinson, Don Wilson, Jeff Bagwell, Craig Biggio, Jimmy Wynn, and Jose Cruz, among others, have headlined Houston Astros tickets. Currently, fans with Houston Astros tickets can see the Houston Astros playing inside their new home Minute Maid Park - the first retractable-roofed stadium for the city of Houston. In Minute Maid Park's short history, the venue has already hosted the MLB All Star Game and a World Series to boot.

Houston Sports: Rockets History

In 1967, Texas welcomed its first NBA team, the Houston Rockets. Without a permanent home arena, Houston tickets for Houston Rockets games were not as popular as they are today. By 1975, Houston tickets invited Houston Rockets fans inside The Summit (which later changed its name to the Compaq Center), the new home of the NBA Houston Rockets. Fans with Houston Rockets tickets have seen NBA legends such as Hakeem Olajuwon, Moses Malone and Ralph Sampson in action and witnessed the Houston Rockets winning back-to-back NBA Championships in 1994 and 1995.

Currently, fans with Houston Rockets tickets can head to Downtown Houston to see Houston Rockets basketball games live inside the Toyota Center. Since opening in 2003, the state-of-the-art venue is the home of the NBA Houston Rockets, AHL Houston Aeros, and the former home of the WNBA Houston Comets. Today, Houston Rockets games are some of the hottest tickets around the city as fans rush to cheer on Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady, Ron Artest and the Houston Rockets in their push for another NBA Championship.

Houston Sports: Comets History

Founded in 1997, the WNBA Houston Comets are the sister team of the Houston Rockets. Fans with Houston Comets tickets have been treated to the first WNBA dynasty, winning four WNBA Championships in the league's first four years of existence. Houston Comets tickets have showcased stars such as former WNBA MVP Cynthia Cooper, Sheryl Swoopes, and Tina Thompson. With Houston tickets, basketball fans can see the Houston Comets in action inside their new home Reliant Arena after playing at both The Compaq Center (formerly The Summit) and the Toyota Center.

Houston Sports: Texans History

Since the NFL Houston Oilers jettisoned to Nashville, Tennessee, fans had been missing Houston tickets for a professional football franchise in the city. When the NFL expansion team Houston Texans came to town in 2002, fans rushed to buy Houston tickets for the upcoming NFL season inside the colossal Reliant Stadium - the first retractable-roof stadium in NFL history. The sparkling new venue has already hosted the Super Bowl, RodeoHouston events, Texas Bowl, Houston Bowl, and much more! Fans with Houston Texans tickets have stood by their team and know that the first winning season in franchise history is on the horizon.

Houston Sports: Dynamo History

In 2005, the city of Houston would welcome an MLS soccer franchise, the Houston Dynamo (formerly the San Jose Earthquakes). Fans with Houston tickets would be able to see the talented Houston Dynamo in action inside Robertson Stadium, located on the University of Houston campus. Houston Dynamo tickets featured the team streaking to back-to-back MLS Cup Championships after defeating the New England Revolution both times. By the 2010 MLS season, Houston tickets may introduce a new soccer-specific stadium for the Houston Dynamo to call home, but plans are not finalized just yet.
