Cirque du Soleil Mystere: Origins
Cirque du Soleil Mystere marks the Cirque du Soleil creator’s first attempts at bringing the once traveling Cirque du Soleil performance into a permanent theatre setting. Cirque du Soleil Mystere’s original plot centered around Greek and Roman mythology, however, many investors feared a negative public response to the show and subsequent loss of money. Cirque du Soleil set designer, Michael Crete, said that at the time Las Vegas was still heavily influenced by other European cultures. Three years after the original proposal and rejection, Cirque du Soleil Mystere was picked up by Las Vegas’ Treasure Island. The change in location inspired a new thematic direction for Cirque du Soleil Mystere. Mystere’s focus became the origins of life with some of the Greek and Roman mythological elements it began with. Cirque du Soleil Mystere also paved the way for other Cirque du Soleil shows such as: Cirque du Soleil KA, Cirque du Soleil “O”, Cirque du Soleil Zumanity, and Cirque du Soleil LOVE.
Cirque du Soleil Mystere: Theme
Cirque du Soleil Mystere incorporates an interesting plot and exciting music just like other Cirque du Soleil shows. However, Cirque du Soleil Mystere’s acrobatics border on unbelievable. The central theme of Mystere by Cirque du Soleil is the circle of life. Many of the acts take an enormous amount of strength and balance. In a particular act called “Hand to Hand” two brothers fuse strength, stamina and fluidity. This act is performed on a rotating dome which requires a great deal of precision from the artists while also keeping in step with the powerful cyclical themes of Cirque du Soleil Mystere. The Cirque du Soleil Mystere adventure begins with a symbolic “big bang” on an enormous Japanese Taiko drum. Mystere by Cirque du Soleil also ends the same way it begins. Another breathtaking stunt involves an aerial cube in which the actor performs gravity-defying ballet. This act has remained a favorite among audiences since Cirque du Soleil Mystere’s inception.
Cirque du Soleil Mystere: Pre-Show
The Cirque du Soleil series is known for their inventive and entertaining pre-shows. Cirque du Soleil Mystere follows in that tradition by providing a deranged clown to “help” Cirque du Soleil Mystere theatre goers find their seats. Many Cirque du Soleil Mystere reviews warn audiences to avoid this clown if you do not wish to be apart of the pre-show entertainment. On top of deranged clowns and sleekly adorned acrobatic performers, the Cirque du Soleil Mystere pre-show includes a gigantic baby bouncing across the giant stage after an equally enormous red ball. The plus-sized toddler then becomes enamored with a male audience member intent on calling him his “pa-pa”.
Cirque du Soleil Mystere: DVD
Cirque du Soleil has garnered national acclaim and interest from people in all walks of life. In 2007 a one hour DVD documentary about the scientific aspects of Cirque du Soleil Mystere was released. An anthropologist, a physicist, an astrophysicist and a geneticist get together and explore Cirque du Soleil Mystère from the inside out. Their goal is to explain Cirque du Soleil Mystere’s most alluring qualities through each of their respective science fields.
