Tim Tebow & Percy Harvin battle the Florida Gators against the Alabama Crimson Tide for the highly coveted SEC title!
SEC Championship Overview:
The SEC was picked by pundits and fans alike to be the No. 1 division in college football in the preseason. Under Coach Nick Sabin, the Alabama Crimson Tide have risen to the No. 1 team in the nation and seem to have come out of nowhere. The Florida Gators were expected to be the top team in the SEC, and even an early loss did nothing to derail their championship trajectory. The winner will go to the BCS Championship so SEC Championship Game tickets have never been hotter than they are for this game.
Alabama Crimson Tide Offense:
Running back Glenn Coffee is the primary weapon for the Alabama Crimson Tide, and his legs have carried the team far against elite opponents like the Georgia Bulldogs. Fans with Alabama Crimson Tide tickets have seen RBs Mark Ingram and Roy Upchurch come in to pound the rock and milk the clock throughout the season. QB John Parker Wilson manages the game well and has a great target in freshman WR Julio Jones. LT Andre Smith is the best offensive lineman in football and leads one of the top lines in the NCCA as a whole. The line is what truly cashed the Alabama Crimson Tide's SEC Championship Game tickets.
Alabama Crimson Tide: Defense:
The dynamic 3-4 defense on the Alabama Crimson Tide is built around nearly 400-pound NT Terrance Cody. Known as "Mt. Cody" to fans with Alabama Crimson Tide tickets, Terrence Cody can take up to three blockers and clogs the center of the line. ILB Rolando McClain is a tackling machine in the middle and plays well off of Terrence Cody's efforts up front. OLBs Donta Hightower and Brandon Fanney are key pass rushers. S Rashad Johnson is a true ball hawk and has 11 interceptions in two years with CB Javier Arenas being a game changer as well.
Florida Gators Offense:
Heisman Trophy-winning QB Tim Tebow is the leader of the Florida Gators offense and can run as well as pass. The mobility and toughness of Tim Tebow can give opposing defenses fits as he moves around and hits receivers from various positions on the field. No. 1 in the programs and No. 1 in the hearts of fans with Florida Gators tickets is RB Percy Harvin. With the best speed in the entire NCAA, Percy Harvin has taken the Florida Gators on his back at times when Tim Tebow was taken away. Fans with SEC Championship Game tickets will be amazed to see the duo of Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin live.
Florida Gators Defense:
While Terrence Cody leads the Alabama Crimson Tide with his size, MLB Brandon Spikes leads the Florida Gators defense with speed, agility, versatility, and aggressiveness. As one of the best players in football, Brandon Spikes can disrupt any offensive plan. Fans with SEC Championship Game tickets will love Brandon Spikes. Young but huge DTs Lawrence Marsh and Terron Sanders keep blockers off of Brandon Spikes and allow him to fly to the football. CB Joe Haden has surprised many fans with Florida Gators tickets as he has become a shutdown corner.
Alabama Keys to Victory:
The Alabama Crimson Tide must win the SEC Championship with what got them there - the running game. The Florida Gators defense is stacked in the middle but is weak on the ends. Glenn Coffee should get plenty of running room on the left side as Andre Smith can easily handle the defensive end and open up good running lanes. Alabama Crimson Tide C Antoine Caldwell is one of the best in the game and must get to Brandon Spikes often to neutralize him in the open field. John Parker Wilson has to be careful with the football against the Florida Gators quick defense.
On the defensive side of the ball, fans with SEC Championship Game tickets will be treated to a ton of blitzes. Tim Tebow is a great athlete but does not have the highest football IQ, and the advanced blitzing scheme of the 3-4 could easily goad him into giving up sacks or interceptions. Terrence Cody must rule the line of scrimmage along with senior DE Bobby Greenwood. If the pocket can be collapsed from the inside, then Tim Tebow can be corralled by the OLBs on the blitz. Keeping track of Percy Harvin will be full-time job, and he cannot be allowed to get to the outside.
Florida Gators Keys to Victory:
Fans with SEC Championship Game tickets expect to see a lot of Tim Tebow heroics, but in reality he could be a non-factor. The 3-4 of the Alabama Crimson Tide will be unlike anything he has encountered this year, and Tim Tebow is not the best at making quick reads. RB/WR Percy Harvin must step up his game to compensate. Terrence Cody will have the middle sealed up, but the speedy Percy Harvin can find success in the open field. If Tim Tebow can find Percy Harvin on check-down throws during blitzes, then the speedster can do some serious damage in the open field.
Alabama Crimson Tide QB John Parker Wilson is a good but not great player, and he will not beat the Florida Gators. The defensive tackles of the Florida Gators need to keep the interior linemen in check so that Brandon Spikes can fill the gaps and get to the running back as soon as possible. It is up to Brandon Spikes to cover sideline to sideline as the Alabama Crimson Tide will likely run to the outside. The Alabama Crimson Tide should try and run behind LT Andre Smith, which means WLB Ryan Stamper has to make a fair share of plays as well.
SEC Championship Outlook:
The Alabama Crimson Tide are riding the old-school formula of great running and better defense to the No. 1 ranking in the BCS. The Florida Gators strike back with an unorthodox attack of versatile players that can play more than one position. Fans with SEC Championship tickets will see a nice variety of modern football and classic strategy. The meeting of coaches Urban Meyer and Nick Sabin will also be the mental battle of the year in sports.
The Florida Gators may have two Heisman hopefuls and a devastating defender in Brandon Spikes, but Nick Sabin's Alabama Crimson Tide game plan is designed to smash and confuse at the same time. The complex 3-4 defense and Terrence Cody are the two big advantages that the Alabama Crimson Tide have over the Florida Gators. Tim Tebow will be harassed all day, and not even Percy Harvin can beat a defense by himself. Fans with SEC Championship tickets will see a classic in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia.
