NBA All Star Game 2009: Complete Lineup

NBA All-Star Game

The NBA coaches got it right, voting in a bevy of talented, deserving players in as 2009 NBA All Star reserves.

2009 NBA All Star Game: Votes In
Season after season, voting for NBA All Stars keeps getting tougher. The starting lineups for both the Eastern Conference and West Conference have already been set; superstars such as Dwight Howard, Kevin Garnett, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Allen Iverson headlining the East, while Kobe Bryant, Yao Ming, Tim Duncan, Chris Paul, and Amare Stoudemire are the stars of the West. The reserves for each team have also been announced as the 30 NBA head coaches have voted for seven players within their respective conference. Fans with NBA All Star Game tickets will be in for a fantasy-like lineup in this year’s match up.

2009 NBA All Star Game: East Bench
The Eastern Conference All Star lineup is riddled with crazy talent, even if some of the players are starring on less-than-stellar teams. Forwards Chris Bosh (Toronto Raptors), Rashard Lewis (Orlando Magic), and Paul Pierce (Boston Celtics), guards Joe Johnson (Atlanta Hawks) and Jameer Nelson (Orlando Magic), along with swingman Danny Granger (Indiana Pacers) have all deservedly made the All Star cut, with Granger, Nelson, and Harris receiving their first-ever All Star Game invitation.

2009 NBA All Star Game: East Review
Fans with NBA All Star Game tickets can expect Chris Bosh to provide a body in the middle as the East’s backup center, bringing down rebounds or scoring in the post. Danny Granger has proven that he can score with the best of them, currently averaging a little less than 26 points a game. Magic men Rashard Lewis and Jameer Nelson are sure to dazzle fans with a barrage of long-range bombs, while Paul Pierce is a surefire candidate to get the rock in clutch situations. Some notable snubs include Vince Carter, Ray Allen, and Mo Williams.

2009 NBA All Star Game: West Bench
The Western Conference’s reserve corps reads like a starting unit, which is no surprise as 9 of the 15 teams in the West are sitting pretty above .500 in the standings. Coach Phil Jackson will have a stacked bench to turn to. Chauncey Billups (Denver Nuggets) and Tony Parker (San Antonio Spurs), forwards David West (New Orleans Hornets) and Brandon Roy (Portland Trail Blazers), and seven footers Pau Gasol (Los Angeles Lakers), Shaquille O’Neal (Phoenix Suns), and Dirk Nowitzki (Dallas Mavericks) all made the 2009 NBA All Star cut.

2009 NBA All Star Game: West Review
While the likes of Steve Nash and Manu Ginobili will miss the game, fans with NBA All Star Game tickets don’t have much to argue about with the selections. Shaquille O’Neal has 15 NBA All Star invites under his belt, which is second only to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s 19. Billups and Parker are each posting career-high numbers in scoring thus far this season, while big men such as Pau Gasol, Dirk Nowitzki, David West, and Brandon Roy give the West plenty of height and depth in the front court.

2009 NBA All Star Game: Advantage?
When the 2009 NBA All Star Game tips off on Sunday, February 15, 2009, there will be no clear-cut winner. Fans with NBA All Star Game tickets will be treated to four quarters (maybe more!) of explosive hoops action inside Phoenix, Arizona’s U.S. Airways Center. The Eastern Conference team will be unbelievably quick and will surely threaten from the outside.

The Western Conference team will be a tall task, however, so ticketholders can expect a monster inside game thanks to Yao Ming, Tim Duncan, Amare Stoudemire, Pau Gasol, Shaquille O’Neal, and David West.
