NBA All Star Rookie Challenge: Info
The NBA All Star Rookie Challenge is held on the Friday of the NBA All Star Weekend. Previously known as the “Rookie Game,” the NBA All Star Rookie Challenge game features some of the brightest stars in the league, hand chosen by NBA coaches. Since 2000, the game has pitted a team of first-year players (rookies) against a team of standout second-year players (sophomores). Other formats of the game have included Eastern Conference rookies versus Western Conference rookies. Fans with game tickets to the NBA All Star Rookie Challenge will be treated to two 20-minute halves of exciting hoops action.
NBA All Star Rookie Challenge: 2008
Last season, the NBA All Star Rookie Challenge crowned the Sophomores as the victors. Led by MVP Daniel Gibson, the Sophomore team routed the Rookie team by a score of 136-109. Daniel Gibson posted 33 points on a record 11 three pointers. For the 2008 game, NBA All Star Rookie Challenge tickets featured the following rosters:
Rookies: Kevin Durant and Jeff Green, Mike Conley, Luis Scola, Al Horford, Yi Jianlian, Juan Carlos Navarro, Jamario Moon, and Sean Williams.
Sophomores: Brandon Roy, Rajon Rondo, Rudy Gay, Andrea Bargnani, LaMarcus Aldridge, Paul Millsap, Jordan Farmar, Daniel Gibson, Ronnie Brewer.

The 2009 NBA All Star Weekend will heat up the deserts of Phoenix, Arizona.
