After an impressive high school basketball career, Leon Powe didn’t stop there, going on to play college basketball for the California Golden Bears. Leon Powe was on the California Bears roster for three seasons, although he suffered a knew injury in his sophomore year and could not play. In his freshman year, Leon Powe racked up more recognition by leading the Pac-10 in rebounding, earning Pac-10 freshman of the year honors, and being crowned as Cal’s MVP to boot.

After recovering from knee surgery in his sophomore year, Leon Powe came returned as a dominant interior force and continued to improve in all facets of the game. Leon Powe was a legit 20-10 player who led the California Golden Bears to a 20-11 record and a spot in the NCAA Tournament during his junior year.
