Carl Landry: Growing Up
On September 19, 1983, Carl Christopher Landry was born to parents Mark and Anita Landry. Growing up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Carl Landry’s basketball career began at Vincent High School, where his basketball team won the Wisconsin Division I State Championship in both 2000 and 2001. As a senior in high school, Carl Landry was named Second Team All-Area in Milwaukee.

Carl Landry: Vincennes Years
While attending Vincennes University, Carl Landry played half a season of basketball, averaging 14.7 PPG and 7.8 RPG before breaking his hand to end his freshman campaign. Carl Landry came back in his sophomore year to average a stellar 19.6 PPG, 8.9 RPG, and 2.3 BPG. As a result, Carl Landry was named All-Region MVP and First-Team Junior College All America that same year.

Carl Landry: Purdue Years
In his junior year, Carl Landry transferred to Purdue University, where he led the Purdue Boilermakers (and the conference to boot!) with 18.2 PPG and 7.1 RPG, while shooting 61.8 percent from the field. Thanks to his standout play, Carl Landry was named Second Team All Big Ten. At the end of the 2004-05 season, Carl Landry suffered a knee injury, but he bounced back in time for the 2005-06 season. However, early in the season, Carl Landry re-injured himself and devoted the rest of the season to his full recovery.

During the 2006-07 season, a now healthy Carl Landry would once again lead the Purdue Boilermakers in points and rebounds. Carl Landry’s senior season teemed with accolades, honors, and achievements, including Big Ten Player of the Week, First-Team All-Big Ten, and a trip to the second round of the NCAA tournament. Carl Landry and teammate David Teague made up the second highest scoring tandem in the Big Ten that season. During his collegiate basketball career, Carl Landry shined as one of the better post players in the country.

Carl Landry: Houston Rockets
Carl Landry entered the 2007 NBA Draft and was picked up by the Seattle Super Sonics with the No. 31 overall pick but would be dealt to the Houston Rockets for a future second-round pick.
