Terrell Owens: Childhood

Born on December 7, 1973, Terrell Eldorado Owens was raised by his mother and maternal grandmother in Alexander City, Alabama. During his childhood, Terrell Owens grew up idolizing the legendary NFL wide receiver Jerry Rice. Terrell Owens didn’t take up sports until his high school years, where he proved to be a gifted, all-around athlete, lettering in football, basketball, baseball, and track. Interestingly, Terrell Owens nearly quit football in high school to focus on basketball. Fortunately, for the football world, Terrell Owens’ football coach advised him against the move.

Terrell Owens: College Years
Terrell Owens would enroll in University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where Terrell Owens took up basketball and track. Terrell Owens played three years of college basketball on a team that qualified for the NCAA Tournament in 1995. Terrell Owens also played college football, donning No. 80 on his jersey in honor of his favorite player, Jerry Rice.

After working his way into a starting spot in his sophomore year, Terrell Owens would soon put up impressive numbers, racking up 144 receptions for 2,320 yards along with 19 TDs throughout his college football career. In his senior year, Terrell Owens made Mocs history by catching a pass in 11-straight games. Terrell Owens earned first-team All-Southern Conference honors as a sophomore and senior, and added second-team All-Southern Conference honors as a junior.

Terrell Owens: San Francisco 49ers

Almost a dream come true, the San Francisco 49ers drafted Terrell Owens in the third round of the 1996 NFL Draft, and Terrell Owens would play on the same team as his idol, Jerry Rice. In his first year with the 49ers, Terrell Owens played on special teams, waiting for his big break. During the 1997 NFL season, Terrell Owens would fill the void left by an injured Jerry Rice. Terrell Owens and QB Steve Young would lead the 49ers to 13 wins that season. After the 1999 NFL season, Steve Young retired from the game, handing Jeff Garcia the starting QB reins.

In 2000, Terrell Owens was a bright spot in the San Francisco 49ers season, rewriting 49ers history with his 283 yards on 20 catches against the Chicago Bears. Terrell Owens eclipsed 1,400 yards in both the 2000 and 2001 NFL seasons. In 2002, the San Francisco 49ers captured the NFC West crown and faced the New York Giants in the playoffs. On the backs of notable performances from Jeff Garcia and Terrell Owens, the San Francisco 49ers turned in the second-best comeback in NFL playoff history, rebounding from a 24-point deficit to steal the win 39-38. Terrell Owens would leave the 49ers after the 2003 NFL season.

Terrell Owens: Philadelphia Eagles

After a busy offseason for Terrell Owens, the star wide receiver inked a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Philadelphia Eagles 2004 NFL season got off to a furious start, and Philadelphia Eagles fans and NFL fans nationwide were loving Terrell Owens, who was averaging a TD catch per game prior to spraining his injury. The Philadelphia Eagles earned a trip to Super Bowl XXXIX, and Terrell Owens announced that he would play despite his injury. An injured Terrell Owens silenced skeptics by turning in 122 yards on 9 catches, but his heroic comeback would not be enough to push the Philadelphia Eagles past the New England Patriots. After an eventful 2005 NFL season, the Philadelphia Eagles and Terrell Owens parted ways, as the star wide out signed a three-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys football team and would now don the Dallas Cowboys logo.

Terrell Owens: Dallas Cowboys 2006

With Terrell Owens headed to the Big D, Dallas Cowboys tickets were some of the hottest tickets in sports. Terrell Owens made his debut with the Dallas Cowboys football team during the 2006 NFL season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Despite an injury to his finger, Terrell Owens would wait until the end of the season to repair the damage with surgery. Terrell Owens: Dallas Cowboys 2007

At the start of the 2007 NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys football team – led by QB Tony Romo and Terrell Owens – would begin to give fans with Dallas Cowboys tickets a real show! Terrell Owens would enjoy a sensational month of November, setting a new career high and making franchise history with four TD catches against the Washington Redskins, and then becoming the first player in NFL history to record at least one TD catch and six receptions in seven consecutive games. Terrell Owens’ 2007 NFL regular season ended with back-to-back trips to the NFL playoffs, a trip to the Pro Bowl, and a place on the All-Pro team. With 15 TDs on the season, Terrell Owens once again made Dallas Cowboys history.

Terrell Owens: Dallas Cowboys 2008

Terrell Owens has made it clear he would like to finish his career and enter the NFL Hall of Fame wearing a Dallas Cowboys logo. In June 2008, the Dallas Cowboys and Terrell Owens agreed to a four-year contract that will allow fans with Dallas Cowboys tickets to see Terrell Owens through the 2011 NFL season. So far in the Dallas Cowboys 2008 season, Terrell Owens has already rewritten history once again, surpassing his former Jerry Rice atop the leader board in career touchdowns.
