NFL Week 11: New York Giants vs. Baltimore Ravens

New York Giants

The No. 2 and No. 3 ranked defenses in the NFL collide in one of the toughest games of the NFL football season.

NY Giants vs. Ravens Overview:
Ferocious defenses and thundering running games set the stage for the collision of the Baltimore Ravens and New York Giants in NFL Week 11. Both the New York Giants and the Baltimore Ravens are riding on four-game winning streaks and are making a play to be the best in their respective divisions. The No. 2 ranked defense of the Baltimore Ravens is a turnover-forcing machine, while the New York Giants get after the passer like no other. Fans with New York Giants tickets will be treated to this iconic defensive battle live at the Meadowlands.

New York Giants Offense:
NY Giants quarterback Eli Manning is a Super Bowl MVP, but much of the New York Giants offense is thanks to their outstanding offensive line and running game. The New York Giants lead the NFL in rushing and love to pound the ball with enormous RB Brandon Jacobs, backup Derrick Ward, and speedy RB Ahmad Bradshaw. When they aren’t beating up opposing defenses on the ground, Eli Manning is able to get the ball to WRs Plaxico Burress, Steve Smith, and Amani Toomer. Fans with New York Giants tickets know that TE Kevin Boss is a star in the making.

New York Giants Defense:
New York Giants tickets feature defensive guru Steve Spagnuolo, who is a master at putting together defensive-line stunts that crush the passer. DE Justin Tuck is the leader in sacks, but DE Mathias Kiwanuka is coming into his own as well. DTs Fred Robbins and Berry Coefield love to get to the QB on crossing stunts as well. While the front four in the 4-3 alignment gets after the QB, MLB Antonio Pierce patrols the middle of the field and hunts down running backs. The constant pressure up front forces a ton of interceptions in the secondary with DBs like Kenny Phillips and Corey Webster taking advantage.

Baltimore Ravens Offense:
Ranking third in the NFL in rushing, the Baltimore Ravens also love to use their giant offensive line to pave over defensive fronts. RB Willis McGahee leads a great group of backs including Le’Ron McClain and Ray Rice along with blocking specialist Lorenzo Neal. Rookie QB Joe Flacco manages the game well but is also capable of beating teams with his arm if they crowd the box. TE Todd Heap looks to be healthy again, but Joe Flacco’s favorite target has been WR Derrick Mason.

Baltimore Ravens Defense:
The Baltimore Ravens 3-4 defense destroyed the Houston Texans and forced turnovers often. ILB Ray Lewis is a fan favorite and is still dominating competition as he builds his Hall of Fame resume. LBs Bart Scott, Jarrett Johnson, and Terrell Suggs are all great run defenders and pass rushers. DL Haloti Ngata is a physical freak that rules the line of scrimmage from any spot on the field and can even drop into coverage. S Ed Reed is the ultimate ball-hawk safety and makes the Baltimore Ravens nearly invincible to the deep ball.

New York Giants Keys to Victory:
The New York Giants must do what they always do, which is dominate the line of scrimmage on offense and defense. New York Giants tickets will feature Brandon Jacobs and the other runners who must punish the interior of the Baltimore Ravens in order to slow down the dynamic 3-4. The biggest obstacle to running the football is Haloti Ngata, and the big man must be contained with double teams. Eli Manning will probably avoid deep throws due to Ed Reed trolling the deep zones, but WR Plaxico Burress has a size advantage over CBs like Samari Rolle and Fabian Washington.

Fans with New York Giants tickets know that their team’s fate has been determined by the defense and the ability to get after the QB. The Baltimore Ravens would rather rely on Willis McGahee and Ray Rice than on Joe Flacco, so the New York Giants must stop the run game early. Joe Flacco has showed poise for a rookie, but that confidence can be easily shattered by the sight of Justin Tuck roaring at him at full speed. The New York Giants secondary must be on the lookout for any poor passes thrown by the rookie into coverage.

Baltimore Ravens Keys to Victory:
The Philadelphia Eagles gave up no sacks to the New York Giants, and this was because they ran short slants and reduced the time the QB held the ball. The Baltimore Ravens will take a similar offensive approach when they pass, but they must run the football first. The power run of the Baltimore Ravens flattened the Houston Texans, and they will return to the well once more. The big linemen will wear down the stunting front four of the New York Giants and will reduce their mobility as the game wears on. Joe Flacco cannot hold on to the ball long.

Haloti Ngata and the Baltimore Ravens’ front three have to hold the line of scrimmage so that their linebackers can make plays on Brandon Jacobs and the rest of the New York Giants running crew. Even the great Ray Lewis might have trouble bringing down the mountain of a man that is Brandon Jacobs so the DBs must be ready to help tackle the beast. Eli Manning rarely throws over 200 yards, and the goal of the Baltimore Ravens is to make the younger Manning beat them. Plaxico Burress is bigger than any CB so Ed Reed must shadow him to give support.

NY Giants vs. Ravens Outlook:
Fans with New York Giants tickets naturally love defensive football, and they will see two of the best teams in the business. There may not be the awe-inspiring deep balls that the general public loves, but smashmouth football will be on display at the Meadowlands, and that’s all that fans with New York Giants tickets are asking for. The weather will be cold, the hits will be hard, and a bone or two will probably be broken. The Baltimore Ravens vs. the New York Giants will be what football has always been meant to be and has all the makings of a classic.

With even defenses and running games, this battle will come down to quarterbacks. Joe Flacco is possibly the NFL Rookie of the Year and will be a great player in no time. The New York Giants, however, have a Super Bowl MVP in Eli Manning. Eli Manning also knows the swirling winds of the Meadowlands that can derail entire offensive game plans. Both defenses will rule the day, but fans with New York Giants tickets can be confident that the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants have the experience on offense to make the plays when it counts.
