As home of the MLB’s Pittsburgh Pirates since 2001, PNC Park isn’t as flashy as some of the newer ballparks around the league, but sometimes less really is more. Massive steel beams, dramatic masonry arches and striking views of the Pittsburgh skyline and Allegheny River do not overpower PNC Park’s truly intimate feel and design. As the only modern ballpark limited to two decks, PNC Park places 26,000 of the 38,000 seats on field level, providing fans with clear, intimate views of the field. If all the up-close-and-personal action works up your appetite, restaurants such as Tastes of Pittsburgh and Outback in the Outfield serve up good eats, great views of the playing field, and scenic views of the city. With plenty of inexpensive parking surrounding the ballpark, it’s easy to watch classic baseball in the classic PNC Park – a perfect fit in a city filled with great baseball history.
